# Tmonitor

## TM1000

The TelcoBridges Tmonitor TM1000 enables service providers to record and analyze messages, as well as optimize network performance and Quality of service (QoS), while providing a foundation for new value-added offerings, such as [location-based services](/tmedia-documentation/products/tmedia/features-and-solutions/solutions/location-based-services.md) (LBS).

As a high-performance voice and data traffic-monitoring solution, each Tmonitor TM1000 unit can perform non-intrusive, full-duplex monitoring and filtering of 64 T1/E1/JI interfaces per device at line-rate, providing up to 100% packet capture. Data captured by the TM1000 is routed by [TCP/IP](https://prosbcdocs.telcobridges.com/telecom-references/sip-and-voip/ip-network) to an application server where it is analyzed and acted upon. In addition, [PCM](https://prosbcdocs.telcobridges.com/telecom-references/transmission-and-lines/pcm) voice traffic can be recorded with [TB StreamServer](/tmedia-documentation/other-pages/operations/tb-streamserver.md)™, an application supplied by TelcoBridges.

Contrary to network-monitoring probes, the Tmonitor TM1000 does not affect the performance of the network or the status of a call, or introduce unwanted data artifacts. The TM1000 is designed to work with a purpose-built 32-port [monitoring patch panel](/tmedia-documentation/products/tmonitor/monitoring-tools/monitoring-patch-panel.md) that features a high-impedance circuit to limit signal drain.

TelcoBridges also offers a higher capacity Tmonitor with the [TM3000](/tmedia-documentation/products/tmonitor/tm3000.md) for STM-1 connections.

The [Tmedia](/tmedia-documentation/products/tmedia/tmedia.md) family can also be used for monitoring with lower density, but with voice analysis capabilities using DSPs or VOIP hardware.

### Features & Benefits

**Monitoring applications.** In addition to recording and analyzing voice messages, generating and verifying [call detail records](https://prosbcdocs.telcobridges.com/telecom-references/cdr-and-statistics/cdr) (CDR), the TM1000 enables services providers to perform fraud detection, [lawful interception](/tmedia-documentation/products/tmedia/features-and-solutions/solutions/lawful-intercept.md), and location-based billing.

**Carrier-grade performance.** The Tmonitor TM1000 is a high-volume monitoring solution. Multiple TM1000 devices and application servers can be clustered together in one or more facilities to provide essentially unlimited scalability. Application servers can also be deployed remotely for fully distributed monitoring.

**Network monitoring flexibility.** The Tmonitor TM1000 allows service providers to process and analyze all data captured in [SS7](/tmedia-documentation/configuration/web-portal-3-3/protocol-stack/status/ss7.md), [ISDN](https://prosbcdocs.telcobridges.com/telecom-references/ss7-and-signalling/isdn) and [HDLC](https://prosbcdocs.telcobridges.com/telecom-references/transmission-and-lines/hdlc) packets and Raw traffic, as well as record up to 256 channels of voice traffic. It features highly configurable on-board packet filters so that only relevant information is captured from traffic streams and stored.

**Non-intrusive.** In order to maintain overall system performance and QoS, the TM1000 does not introduce latency or otherwise modify or alter the stream of communications. Installation of the TM1000 requires no modification to existing communications equipment.

## TM3000

The [Tmonitor](/tmedia-documentation/products/tmonitor/tmonitor.md) TM3000 provides up to 100% packet capture while it performs non-intrusive, full-duplex monitoring and filtering of two OC3 or STM-1 interfaces per device. Once the data is captured, it is routed by the TM3000 using TCP/IP to an application server from where the data is analyzed and subsequently acted upon. This truely high performance product makes the TM3000 a high-capacity voice and data traffic monitoring solution for OC3/STM-1 connections, which service providers can rely upon to record and analyze signaling records and voice traffic. In addition to this, network performance and [quality of service](https://prosbcdocs.telcobridges.com/telecom-references/sip-and-voip/ip-network) (QoS) can be optimzed, while providing service providers with new value-added offerings, such as [location-based services](/tmedia-documentation/products/tmedia/features-and-solutions/solutions/location-based-services.md) (LBS).

Unlike other products in the market today, the TM3000 is not a network-monitoring probe. In fact, the Tmonitor TM3000 does not affect the performance of the network or the status of a call, or introduce any unwanted data artifacts. Furthermore, unlike a software-based solution, the TM3000 does not negatively impact the overall performance of the network. The TM3000 will capture all relevant and required data to provide a truly complete picture of the network’s operations, and the location and status of subscribers, in support of E911 and other real-time LBS efforts. All this is done regardless of the different brands of telecom hardware installed in the network.

TelcoBridges also offers the Tmonitor [TM1000](/tmedia-documentation/products/tmonitor/tm1000.md) for T1/E1/J1 connections.

The [Tmedia](/tmedia-documentation/products/tmedia/tmedia.md) family can also be used for lower-density monitoring, but with voice analysis capabilities using DSPs or VOIP hardware.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://prosbcdocs.telcobridges.com/tmedia-documentation/products/tmonitor.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
