# Creating Profiles

|                          |             |             |
| ------------------------ | ----------- | ----------- |
| This article applies to: | **Product** | **Version** |
| Tmedia                   | 3.0, 3.2    |             |
| SBC                      | 3.1         |             |

Profiles are created to define the manner in which many aspects of signalling are handled by the system. Profiles can be used to fine-tune the handling of VoIP, TDM, IVR and Tones, and more. To create a profile you must use the Tmedia [Web Portal](/tmedia-documentation/other-pages/other/web-portal.md).

**To create a profile:**

1- Click **Profiles** in the navigation panel

System profiles contain settings for a large number of call processing options. To learn more about these profile settings, consult the following profile categories:

* VoIP Profile Settings
  * [Media Relay](/tmedia-documentation/other-pages/other/modifying-media-relay-profile-settings.md)
  * [SDP](/tmedia-documentation/other-pages/fax-and-media/modifying-sdp-profile-settings.md)
  * [SIP](/tmedia-documentation/other-pages/protocol-stacks-sip/modifying-sip-profile-settings.md)
  * [RTP and Audio](/tmedia-documentation/other-pages/other/modifying-rtp-and-audio-settings.md)

Tone definition profiles list the frequencies for each tone that is used in a telephone network. This tone definition can change from country to country, such as the ring tone and busy tone. To learn more about how to configure customized tone definitions, see:

* [Tone Definition Profiles](/tmedia-documentation/other-pages/fax-and-media/modifying-tone-definition-profile-settings.md)

2- Click **Create New Profile**, to create a new profile

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://prosbcdocs.telcobridges.com/tmedia-documentation/configuration/web-portal-3-3/protocol-stack/isdn-fas-and-nfas/modify-nap-profile.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
