# Creating an SCCP Userpart

> **Applies to:** Tmedia 3.0, 3.2, 3.3

Now that you have configured an [SCCP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/sccp/README.md) network:

* If you are using [SCCP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/sccp/README.md) to perform [Global Title (GT)](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/concepts/global-title/README.md) routing/translation ([GTT](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/gtt/README.md)) in **standalone mode**, then skip this step. Go to [Create an SCCP LSAP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/tmedia/configuration/creating-an-sccp-lsap/README.md).
* If you are using a [TCAP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/tcap/README.md), you must create a new [SCCP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/sccp/README.md) user part, so that you can bind the SCCP and TCAP later on.

***

The user part is the container for the multiple [SCCP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/sccp/README.md) interfaces. One user part is required for each protocol variant. Multiple [SCCP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/sccp/README.md) user parts can be instantiated within a single [SCCP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/sccp/README.md) protocol layer. This allows a user application to interface with multiple [SS7](https://telcobridges.com/media-gateways/solutions/signaling/migrating-ss7-sigtran/) [SCCP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/sccp/README.md) protocol variants at the same time. Only one [SCCP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/sccp/README.md) user part is required for a specific variant as it can be assigned to multiple SCCP networks.

A user part can easily be seen as a protocol variant that a host application wants to use on the SS7 network.

To create an SCCP user part:

1- Select **SCCP** from the navigation panel

2- Select an SCCP Network

![Select SCCP Network 0](https://docs.telcobridges.com/w/images/0/0b/Select_SCCP_Network_0.png)

3- Click **Create New SCCP User Part** to access the SCCP configuration window

4- Configure the new [SCCP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/sccp/README.md) user part

* Enter a [Name](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/parameters/name/README.md) for the user part
* Enter a [Sub-System Number](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/parameters/sub-system-number/README.md) to assign to this UserPart (upper [TCAP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/tcap/README.md) application)
* Select the [First Concerned Point Code](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/parameters/sccp-concerned-point-code/README.md) that needs immediate notification of own [SSN](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/parameters/sub-system-number/README.md) status changes
* Select the [Second Concerned Point Code](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/parameters/sccp-concerned-point-code/README.md) that needs immediate notification of own [SSN](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/parameters/sub-system-number/README.md) status changes
* Click **Create**

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://prosbcdocs.telcobridges.com/tmedia-documentation/configuration/creating-an-sccp-userpart.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
