# Configuring SIP Authentication

> **Applies to:** Tmedia 3.0, 3.2, 3.3

**Important**

Follow this procedure if you require the Tmedia to answer the SIP INVITE/BYE authentication challenge messages (ie. interconnect a SIP with a TDM network). If you need those challenge messages to be forwarded, do not follow this procedure. This procedure assumes that your SIP NAP is already configured.

You need to edit the SIP [NAP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/nap/README.md) and configure the SIP realm.

To Access your SIP NAP Configuration:

1- Click **NAPs** in the navigation panel

2- Select a SIP NAP from the **Network Access Point List**

3- Expand the **Authentication Parameters** section

4- Fill the Realm information

* Set the SIP authentication Realm
* Set authentication user
* Set authentication password ![FillNAPAuthenticationRealm 1](https://docs.telcobridges.com/w/images/5/5f/FillNAPAuthenticationRealm_1.png)

5- Click Save

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://prosbcdocs.telcobridges.com/tmedia-documentation/configuration/configuring-sip-authentication.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
