# ASR

Answer Seizure Ratio (ASR) provides the relationship between the number of seizures that result in an answer signal and the total number of seizures. This is a direct measure of the effectiveness of the service being offered and is usually expressed as a percentage as follows:

```
ASR = (Seizures resulting in answer signal) / (Total seizures) * 100
```

In the case of [call routing](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/concepts/call-routing/README.md), using the TelcoBridges' Media Gateway Application, ASR routing will match any route whose destination NAP has a higher ASR. This kind of routing will try to improve the overall system ASR by always using the best [NAP](https://github.com/telcobridges-main/tmedia-wiki/tree/main/reference/protocols/nap/README.md).

The TelcoBridges' Media Gateway Application can decide to route on the best NAP according to the following time periods:

* global
* last\_24h
* current\_hour
* last\_hour

The TelcoBridges' Media Gateway Application can also decide upon a minimum ASR under which the NAP will not be used anymore.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://prosbcdocs.telcobridges.com/telecom-references/telecom-concepts/asr.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
